My current work is on the field of AdS/CFT, particularly in the field of using quantum-corrections to the area term to include generalized entropy for describing HRT surfaces. While I am new to HEP, I can definitely say that this is an amazing field to be interested in.
The previous work I had (and still have been, somewhat) worked up about was on using tools from semiclassical gravity to find singularity theorems, replacing topological constraints such as the presence of a non-compact Cauchy surface.
